This is a fixed term post until 12th July 2019 (with the possibility of extension).

At Blackpool Sixth, we want to make sure that our students with special educational needs, disabilities, medical needs or mental health conditions enjoy full support to help them succeed in their studies. We are constantly looking for new and innovative ways to help our vulnerable students to overcome barriers and achieve their full potential. We proudly hold the Dyslexia Friendly Quality Mark, awarded in June 2017 and have expertise in mental health, autism and other special educational needs and disabilities.   

So what part will you play in all of this? Identifying the individual needs of each student, you’ll work with teachers, other colleagues and outside agencies to put in place effective support strategies and examination access arrangements. You will provide support both in class and out of class to ensure that students enjoy equal access to the curriculum and the broader range of opportunities that make up college life, that they are successful in their studies and that they progress to higher education or employment with training.
