We are an independent co-educational day school in the heart of Cambridge. Looking to appoint a team player to support the Registrar.

As a key member of staff, the post-holder will uphold the aims and objectives of Sancton Wood and to promote these whenever possible whilst providing efficient and effective administrative support.

The admin assistant will often be the very first contact that prospective parents and other visitors have with the school; it is therefore vital that the post-holder be: smartly dressed: unfailingly cheerful, polite and diplomatic; an excellent communicator with impeccable written and spoken English. 

Responsibilities as Admin Assistant: 

To work under the guidance of the Registrar to fulfil all duties relating to admissions. 

To provide effective and efficient management of enquiries from prospective parents for entry to the School. 

To put together and send out prospectuses  

To record prospective parents’ details and the source of their enquiry  

To arrange tours of the school and ensure that these are noted on the weekly bulletin 

Conduct tours of the school for prospective parents including answering questions on teaching and the curriculum 

To liaise with the registrar regarding occasional or unusual enquiries 

To assist the registrar in keeping records and forward planners up to date and produce information in formats as requested by the head and governors 

To maintain up-to-date records of all applications on database and elsewhere as required 

To correlate registrations and confirmations  

To ensure that prospective parents understand the registration and admissions processes, and that they are advised of our terms and conditions 

To assist parents to contact our uniform suppliers 

In liaison with the registrar ensure that all documents sent out to parents are up-to-date and well presented 

To receive registration cheques and forms and forward as required. 

To write letters acknowledging receipt of registration forms and cheques, offering places and requesting deposits 

To update records as required e.g. new addresses, phone numbers, marital status of parents, etc. 

To assist in the preparation of and attendance at Open Days
