We are looking for an Administration Assistant/Receptionist to join our team working at Mountfield Heath School.   


About the School

Mountfield Heath School is a new independent special educational needs provision, for 32 pupils aged 5-12.  The successful candidate will support the Office Manager and the Headteacher to assist in the provision of an effective secretarial, administrative and clerical support service to facilitate the day to day running of the school office, including the finance and recruitment systems.

About the role

Working as an Administration Assistant/Receptionist at Mountfield Heath School you will assist the Office Manager and Headteacher to ensure that the reception area and administration of the school are meeting the needs of all staff and outside agencies supporting the diverse needs of our pupils.  Safeguarding the welfare of the young people in our care will be your primary responsibility.  Any experience of HR and/or Finance systems and procedures would be an advantage but not essential.   


Who are we looking for?

We are looking for an individual with high expectations and standards who can offer excellent organisational and people skills.  You will be working with young people who have complex needs and your ability to develop trusting relationships with the young people and staff will be crucial.  You will be able to reliably work to instruction as well as take the initiative when circumstances demand.  An understanding and interest in special educational needs, as well as a desire to improve these students’ lives is essential. 

The ability to contribute to the development of our school is essential and we believe that energy, passion and a commitment to high standards are key characteristics required.  We are looking for a special individual who is able to help support the inspiration and re-engagement of the young people that we serve.  This is an opportunity for the successful candidate to develop their skills and experience in a challenging, motivating and highly rewarding environment. 


Salary is up to £15,000 (actual) dependent on qualifications and experience.  The hours will be 35 hours per week 8.30am – 3.30pm.  This salary is actual and is not pro rata.  The terms of this contract are term time plus 10 days during the holiday periods.

At Mountfield Heath School we support boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 11 years of age who have a range of social, emotional and mental health needs and also pupils who have been diagnosed with autism or demonstrate behaviours associated with autism. Our aim is very simple: we want to equip every child with the skills, knowledge and confidence that they need to be successful in their future.

Mountfield Heath School is set in a spacious, site with designated spaces for outdoor learning and large classrooms. The school is newly refurbished and all learning spaces are bright and airy with high specification IT resources.
