Richmond Park Academy (RPA), is part of the Academies Enterprise Trust (AET) group and is situated in East Sheen, close to Richmond Park. Richmond, Kingston and the West End are all between 15 and 30 minutes journey from the school and our proximity to central London means that students can benefit enormously from the vast range of social, cultural, sporting and academic opportunities that we are able to access.

Our student body is diverse, exciting and talented – and the same is true of our staff. We put huge emphasis on professional development, most of it in-house, and are proud of the high number of good and outstanding teachers who work in our school. We are also noted for our ‘can do’ attitude. We are keen, always, to encourage new and/or young staff to make their mark as soon as they are ready.

The school completed a £10m rebuild and refurbishment programme, including the introduction of a 6th form in 2014. Our 2018 Ofsted reported that we were a ‘good’ school in all categories. The inspectors judged: “The principal is respected across the school and has communicated a clear vision for the school to all members of the school community. He has empowered the leadership team to raise standards and hold staff to account for pupils’ outcomes through a relentless focus on improving teaching and learning. Staff feel well supported and happy to be part of the drive for improvement”.

The general office is responsible for many aspects of the day-to-day operation of the Academy.

We are looking for someone who is computer literate, has excellent command of the English Language both verbal and written English, is flexible and willing to learn and loves being around children. You will have a keen eye for detail, be organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks at one time.

The newly appointed member of staff will be an enthusiastic administrator, being able to work on their own initiative as well as being part of a team. He or she will be a committed and hardworking team player who will support the pupils, staff and parents in continuing to raise the profile and ongoing success of the department and, more widely, the Academy.

As the sponsor, the AET believes that all young people deserve to become world-class learners – to learn, enjoy, succeed and thrive in a first rate educational environment with the best facilities, the best teaching and the most up-to-date resources available to them. In each of the AET academies, you will benefit from visionary, inspirational and dynamic leadership and be empowered to develop your own skills with access to world-class CPD and Talent Management programmes.

This position is required to commence from September or as soon as possible.

About Richmond Park Academy

Richmond Park Academy (RPA) is situated in East Sheen, close to Richmond Park, which is the largest of the capital's eight Royal Parks and the biggest enclosed space in London. Richmond, Kingston and the West End are all between 15 and 30 minutes journey from the school and our proximity to central London means that students can benefit enormously from the vast range of social, cultural, sporting and academic opportunities that we are able to access. Our student body is diverse, exciting, and talented - and the same is true of our staff.

We put huge emphasis on professional development, much of it in-house, and are proud of the high number of good and outstanding teachers who work in our school. We are also noted for our ‘can do’ attitude. We are keen, always, to encourage new and/or young staff to make their mark as soon as they are ready.

RPA is on a journey towards excellence.  Many targets have been achieved on the road to achieving that goal. Incoming cohorts are now at healthy numbers and forecast results for upcoming years are looking strong. We are looking to deliver consistent results that accurately reflect the skills and commitment of teachers and students alike and we want those results to ensure that RPA becomes the school of choice for all local parents. Many in this affluent area take the independent route. Our challenge is to compete and deliver a compelling alternative.

The school completed a £10m rebuild and refurbishment programme, including the introduction of a 6th form, in 2014.

We warmly welcome visitors and hope that you will come and see for yourself just what we are about and whether or not working here is right for you.

Our Curriculum

Our curriculum intent is:
Richmond Park Academy will provide a curriculum with social equality and opportunity at its heart, erudition as its aim and our values of pride, aspiration, resilience, kindness and skills at the forefront. All students will be met with intensity and rigour in every aspect of their school life and we will strive to ensure that there are no wasted minutes in the classroom. Staff will endeavour to craft intellectually demanding sequences of lessons that meet students with higher expectations than that which they would expect of themselves with medium-term planning for long-term retention as a cornerstone of our academy. Students will develop a deep working knowledge in their chosen areas of study through the exploration of a topic, experiencing its application and drawing out the ethical principles that underpin it. Students will acknowledge their focus on fluency as providing them with the toolkit necessary to solve in-depth tasks in every subject and, in developing their complexity of thought, they will understand the ability to make links as being the foundation of intellect, all with the purpose to serve and help the community and world in which they live.

For us, balance is key. Students are encouraged to participate in as many different activities as possible and make the most out of their time with us. We are very proud of our extensive and free extra-curricular activities which are challenging, varied but inclusive. Those considering higher education have frequent opportunities to visit a range of redbrick and Russell Group universities.

In addition, we are focused on disruption free classrooms and have unapologetically high standards of behaviour. A core part of our ethos, encapsulated in our RPA pledge, is kindness. This is a fundamental part of our teaching.
