Are you an experienced and driven administration officer who wants to share your ideas to create a fun, exciting and engaging provision for students with social emotional and mental health needs? If so, we would love to hear from you. 

Day to day responsibilities of this busy role will be varied but will include:

  • Providing a first-class customer service experience to staff, parents and visitors.
  • Supporting the teaching and admin team in the preparation and dissemination of a wide range of written documentation and communications. 

Our ideal candidate will:

  • Be educated to at least GCSE level, with passes in English and Maths.
  • Have an excellent command of written and verbal English.
  • Have high level of attention to detail.
  • Have highly effective communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Have at least 2 years experience in an administrative role.
  • Have excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Have the ability to organise and prioritise workload.
  • Have the ability to identify stakeholders’ needs quickly and deal with queries.
  • Have reliability, tact, diplomacy, confidentiality and sensitivity are paramount to this post.
  • Be a hard worker.

Hamilton School is an SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Special School in Reading educating up to 64 students with Education, Health Care Plans (EHCP). Our mission is to recognise each and every one of our students as individuals, and to nurture their potential, developing the whole child through a therapeutic approach. This means that you would have to be a resilient character who is able to remain positive when dealing with challenging behaviour. The school is proud to have recently opened its doors to a state-of-the-art building with wonderful new facilities for both pupils and staff. 

In January 2020 Hamilton School joined the Maiden Erlegh Trust family of schools, whose motto is “schools for the community, schools as a community”. The aim for every school in the Trust, whilst espousing their values and ethos, and having a core of common policies and procedures, will serve its own community’s needs in a bespoke way and also create a feeling of community within its own school.
