Administrative Assistant (enhanced term time only)

We’re looking for an experienced and committed Administrative Assistant to work in a busy and friendly office with a full-time Office Manager and another full-time Administrative Assistant.  This is an exciting opportunity to join a very successful sixth form college.  The post-holder will provide a full range of administrative support in the main office and to the student services department. The successful applicant will manage an interesting and diverse workload whilst often liaising with staff, students, parents and the general public. They’ll be located in a recently refurbished office with a bright and modern theme.

We are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, a positive attitude and plenty of enthusiasm who is able to work under pressure and use own initiative. As the first point of contact at the College, a professional and welcoming manner is essential. Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office, competency with databases and a good telephone manner are also required.

This is an enhanced term time only post. The successful candidate will be required to work 36 hours per week, 41 weeks per year, including two weeks working during summer holidays. 

The salary will be in the range of Point 6 to 8 on the sixth form college support staff salary spine, dependent upon experience and qualifications. This is currently pro-rata of £19,524 – £20,565 plus £2,729 London Weighting. The actual salary will therefore be in the range of £19,471 – £20,382 gross per annum, according to experience. The salary includes an additional week of pay in compensation for bank holidays.  In addition, if you have five years of continuous service with a qualifying employer (i.e. another school or college), you’ll receive an additional week’s pay as part of your annual income.
