About us and the role

We are looking to appoint a School Administrative Assistant to join Avanti Hall School. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing MAT with schools based in London, the Midlands and the South West of England

As a School Administrative Assistant, you’ll be expected to:

  • Organise and supervise administrative systems within the school.
  • Contribute to the planning, development and monitoring of administrative support services and/or management of support staff, including co-ordination and delegation of relevant activities.
  • To be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school.

The building was part of Exeter University’s Duryard Halls of Residence for nearly 100 years before becoming a school.

What will you do?

  • Assisting with planning, development, design, organisation and monitoring of support systems / procedures / policies
  • Undertake line management responsibilities including performance management as appropriate for administrative and support staff
  • Provide detailed analysis and evaluation of data and produce detailed reports as required
  • Produce and respond to complex correspondence
  • Provide advice and guidance to staff and others on complex issues

  • Significant experience of developing and maintaining administrative systems and procedures
  • High level of competence using the internet, websites, word processing, data bases and other specialist resources/equipment etc
  • Excellent ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing
  • Ability to work to a high degree of accuracy and pay attention to detail
  • Commitment to professional development, learning and development
