Job overview

Following the retirement of the current postholder, we would like to recruit a part time Administrative Assistant to join our school.

The postholder will provide administrative support to the Additional Needs department which works to support our SEND students. The job description gives a general guide to the role and responsibilities but specific duties will include:

  • Secretarial, administrative and clerical support to Additional Needs department
  • Creating Google forms
  • Telephone and messenger duties
  • Liaising with Exams Officer in respect of organising arrangements for internal and external examinations for SEND students, ensuring all deadlines are met
  • Liaise with parents, external agencies, specialist teacher team, teachers etc regarding issues relating to individual students
  • Compiling supporting evidence, printing reports
  • Attend meetings, take notes, prepare and distribute minutes
  • Create schedule for annual reviews
  • Use SIMS
  • Contributing to the School Census
  • Maintaining SEND files

The postholder may also be required to work with other administrative staff in support of other school departments.

Hours of work will be 23 per week for 38 weeks per year (term time only). The working pattern will be:

Monday: 08:20 to 13:00

Tuesday: 08:50 to 13:30

Wednesday: 08:50 to 13;30

Thursday: 08:50 to 13:30

Friday: 08:50 to 13:10

Flexibility may be required for meetings taking place outside of the above normal working pattern.
