Administrative Assistant

Contract: Temporary due to current capacity needs.  

Hours: Up to 35 hours per week, term time only

Part-time or job share considered

                       Hours may include some Saturday mornings

Exact hours of work to be agreed with the line manager but some flexibility to suit individual circumstances. Please note early May Bank Holiday is a normal school day

The Role 

As a 7-18 State Boarding School we are seeking a highly organised, enthusiastic and proactive Administrator to work within our busy school office and supporting various departments across the school.   This varied role will give the successful candidate an opportunity to get involved in many aspects of school life. 

The successful applicant will be a confident and clear communicator, with administrative experience and excellent IT skills. You must be able to handle a variety of tasks quickly, efficiently and calmly, and have flexibility to move between departments as need arises.  Experience of working within an education setting would be desirable.

What we are looking for

• Experience in a busy environment, with school office experience desirable

• Flexible and adaptable to suit the needs and requirements of the Executive Assistant to the Headteacher and leadership team 

• Able to remain professional when handling confidential material 

• Knowledge of school systems and SIMS is desirable 

• An excellent communicator with both parents, children and staff 

• Confident with the use of Microsoft Office and strong administration skills 

• Aware of the importance of confidentiality and safeguarding of children
