Who Are We?

At Craven, we pride ourselves on supporting, challenging and nurturing children in a way that helps to build their skillsets to be able to achieve whatever they wish to be.  We have our foundations firmly rooted in the core values of respect, perseverance and challenge. Our mission is to develop children who have active and creative minds; a sense of understanding and compassion for others; and the courage to act upon their beliefs. We seek to create a challenging learning environment that incorporates high expectations, but caters for the unique learning needs of every child. By teaching children to ask questions, make thoughtful decisions and solve problems, children are driven to become life-long learners and develop skills that will prepare them for the demands of the modern world that they will soon be changing for themselves.

Anyone who walks through Craven will know that there is a special feeling that floods the corridors and classrooms. Children and staff build incredibly strong relationships with each other. Behaviour around the academy is outstanding and because of this we have had no racial incidents, no bullying incidents, and no exclusions. It really is a safe, caring place where everyone can do what they do best: Children get to learn and teachers get to teach!  

By joining Craven, you will be joining a team that is focussed around professional development and support each other to provide the highest possible quality of education that we can provide. Leadership development and career progression are a high priority at Craven, and in the past six years, four members of staff have gone on to be Heads of Academy within Delta. 

Children leave Craven with academic standards that are historically well above the national average in all subjects, and perform exceptionally well in both writing and maths. We are always looking for new ways to improve our reading and would welcome any staff who have a passion for ensuring that children develop a love of reading and become confident and skilled.
