Admissions Officer:

To identify and recruit exceptional students of all backgrounds to the Hyderabad Academy; assure that the recruitment and selection of students is successful, both in terms of quality and numbers, and that the process is conducted in a fair, transparent, and rigorous manner. This role within the Admissions Office is integral to our plans to recruit students with high potential. We provide a world-class education at AKA H and our role is to assist in providing a holistic education to our students. The role of the manager is often the first point of contact for prospective students and their families and acts as an ambassador for the Academy at public and private meetings with them. At all times it is important to uphold integrity and to be passionate about the role.  

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the Dean of Admissions in assisting with strategic planning for student recruitment – PYP & MYP. 

• Set up a comprehensive admissions database that includes baseline data on individual students. 

• Help create and work on rolling three-year strategic plans for admissions that include numbers of students from targeted areas from across India.

• Identify contacts and other sources of student nominations – especially for residential students joining the Academy. 

• Organize open days and other opportunities for prospective students and interested parties to learn about the Academy.

• Build and maintain relationships with schools from which students join the Academy and other nominators of prospective students. Involve them appropriately in the recruitment process and provide feedback on milestones in the progress of individual students, including entry to higher education.

• Build and maintain relationships with parents and family members and contribute to the provision of feedback.

• Develop presentations to be given to parents, school leaders, and others who may be involved in the promotion of the Academy and the nomination of students.

• Provide reports to the Dean of Admissions on admissions that include forecasts of student numbers by year group, student turnover, admissions outside the usual time frame, and evaluations of admissions procedures and activities.

• Contribute to the induction of new students, ensuring the admissions process prepares students, their parents and families to become part of the Academy. Remain a point of contact for them.

• Act as liaison between the Academy and parents during the pre-admission and admission process. Upon admissions, refer parents to appropriate Department Head depending on specific need.

• Handle admissions-related inquiries as and when required. 

• Have good time management and be able to respond to all prospective and existing parent queries in a polite, respectful and timely manner. 

• It is important to understand the ‘virtual’ space and be aware of the online/distance learning programmes being adopted by schools across the world. It will help if the candidate has a strong foundation in strategic planning and thinking. 

• To remain committed to the role, to be passionate about being involved in institution building and to uphold the integrity of the office at all times.
