Job overview

Founded in 1993, the Harrodian School is co-educational and set in 25 acres of grounds with excellent facilities. Harrodian offers teachers and students alike a friendly, welcoming and exceptional school environment where a strong emphasis is placed on enthusiasm and the enjoyment of learning to ensure an all-round quality of education.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has the skills and experience to drive a successful admissions strategy by building on the school and the department’s current successes, and by looking at innovative new ideas to deliver the highest quality of care for prospective families. The Admissions Registrar has overall responsibility for all aspects of School Admissions and applications from Reception through to and including Sixth Form entry, including the tracking, monitoring and reporting on the customer journey. They are supported by two Assistant Registrars. The school has formal entry points at Reception, 8+, 11+, 13+ and the Sixth Form. It offers occasional place entry into other year groups.

For many people, calling or emailing the admissions department is their first contact with the school and it is essential that the highest standards of customer relations, helpfulness, courtesy, reliability and efficiency are maintained at all times. The successful candidate will therefore be someone with excellent communication and relationship-building skills, a “can do” approach and proven experience of delivering exceptional customer service. They will be able to demonstrate proven experience of working effectively and highly collaboratively in a busy office environment; superb time management, planning and prioritisation skills; accuracy and a keen eye for detail; and an unflappable, solution-focused and flexible approach.  They will be comfortable with playing a central part in the planning, preparation and execution of key admissions-related events and with representing Harrodian at both internal events, ranging from initial enquiries and school visits, to examinations, interviews and post-offer admissions events, and at external events where they will maintain and build upon excellent relationships with feeder schools and encourage and facilitate visits from their Headteachers and Future Schools colleagues.

Harrodian is at an exciting time in its development, with innovation, growth and the continued development of first-class facilities at the heart of our plans. We welcome your interest in being part of our continuing journey.
