Job overview

The College requires a teacher, with a real passion for their subject, to join our Adult Education Provision. The successful candidate needs to have a flexible approach to delivering training to adult learners as part of the community provision. We work in partnership with Job Centres and community support organisations across Hampshire to provide a range of courses to support unemployed people back into work. Training can take place community across Hampshire as well as in college. 

We welcome applications from candidates who have experience working with this client group and ideally a teaching or assessing qualification or be willing to work towards. The successful candidate will have the desire and ability to inspire all students to reach their full potential and must be able to show a clear commitment to delivering high quality teaching and learning for students. This role requires someone with good communication and organisational skills, who is patient and engaging. 

This is a casual claims contract.

The successful applicant must have use of a car and be prepared to travel across Hampshire.

Travel expenses will be paid.

Itchen College is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational further education college in Hampshire, serving students from the age of 16-19. The college, situated in Southampton has approximately 1,558 learners on record.

Itchen College was founded in 1906 as a co-educational secondary school and later Itchen Grammar School. It welcomes learners from across the world, with 10% making up international students. Facilities on the campus include a sports centre, performing arts block – features Apple Mac suites, recording studios and soundproof music rooms, and a Student Centre for students to relax in during their study breaks.
