Advanced Mathematics Support and Development Coordinator

MEI is a charity, committed to improving mathematics education for all. It is at the forefront of all aspects of mathematics education including professional and curriculum development. MEI has managed the national Further Mathematics Support Programme (FMSP) and its predecessor, the Further Mathematics Network, since 2005, and has recently been awarded the contract by the DfE to run the Advanced Mathematics Support Programme (AMSP).

The AMSP is a government funded project which aims to increase participation in A level Mathematics, A level Further Mathematics and Core Maths. It will support schools and colleges throughout England, delivering professional development for teachers and providing enrichment and tuition for students.

MEI is seeking to appoint an Advanced Mathematics Support and Development Coordinator.

This is an excellent opportunity to join an exceptional team. The role will involve assisting with the development of AMSP support for the teaching of AS/A level Maths and Further Maths, which will include coordinating a programme of teacher professional development, contributing to the delivery of professional development, writing of teaching materials, and promoting the uptake of level 3 mathematics. 

The contract will commence on 1 Sept 2018 and runs until 30 April 2020 in the first instance, although there may be opportunities for extension, subject to continued government funding.

Salary will be in the range £45000 to £50000, depending on skills and experience.

This is a full time post but applications from individuals seeking part time, or flexible working arrangements, are welcome. Secondments from teaching posts on a part-time basis will also be considered.

The post is home-based but will involve frequent travel nationally.
