HIGHER LEVEL/ADVANCED TEACHING ASSISTANT - MATHS
To commence as soon as possible
29.5 hours per week Monday – Friday Term Time only (38 weeks per annum)
£14,777 actual per annum

We have an exciting new opportunity for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and experienced Teaching Assistant to support the Maths Department and students within KS3 and KS4.  You will be joining a thriving team who deliver innovative and enjoyable lessons to students who really want to learn.  This role would also suit someone considering teaching as a future career.

Key duties will include advancing students’ learning in a range of settings including working 1:1 and small group interventions and attending monthly departmental meetings.  In addition the postholder will work closely with the Head of Maths and team members regarding preparation of resources and delivery of learning activities.

We are looking for someone who has initiative and is organised and flexible in their approach with experience of actively supporting students in Maths.  The ideal candidate will be able to empathise with students’ learning needs and contribute to their learning goals, whilst encouraging independence.  An ability to differentiate, communicate and adjust to the learning styles of identified students and excellent motivational skills are essential, as well as experience in supporting students with learning needs.

Hinchley Wood School is a comprehensive coeducational secondary school based in Surrey, for students between the ages of 11 and 18. It gained academy status in 2012 and multi academy status in 2019 - Hinchley Wood Learning Partnership.  In October 2019 Hinchley Wood Primary School joined the Partnership.
