Are you an experienced teacher able to teach Business Studies and ICT to GCSE level and ICT to A level?

A sub-tropical island of spectacular and beautiful landscapes in the South Atlantic with a warm and friendly population of 4,500, St Helena is a self-governing overseas territory of the UK, poised for future transformation with scheduled, commercial air access.

There are four schools on the Island; one secondary and three primary. The curriculum broadly models the English education system. 6th form study includes ‘A’ level courses and distance learning supported programmes.

You will co-ordinate and develop the Business Studies curriculum at the secondary school, contributing to the ICT curriculum and providing high quality teaching and training across the 11–18 age range. You must monitor and assess student performance; plan, prepare and deliver appropriate schemes of work and help develop Business Studies and ICT at the Community College. As an experienced educator who inspires and motivates, you will contribute to the development of Business and ICT education at the further education level and contribute to the professional development of other teachers. You must also oversee and implement distance learning programmes and online study courses.

Holding a recognised UK teaching qualification you will also be qualified to degree level in Business, ICT or a related area. Relevant knowledge of the Secondary Curriculum within the UK is essential. Your experience will include teaching and demonstrating practical skills and providing professional development and training for other staff.

We offer an extensive benefits package with 30 days leave pa, fare paid travel, freight and storage allowances. An application form can be found at www.sthelenacareers.com where further information can also be found, or you may contact Kedell Worboys on 0203 818 7610 or email: shgukrep@sthelenagov.com. This is where applications must be sent and received by 6 June 2017. Interviews will be held in London.
