We are currently looking for an outstanding applicant with experience to work alongside our Activity Leaders.

Have you ever felt like you wanted to go to work and have fun? Want to work in a school environment with children but play and engage with them in a fun way? Then this maybe the role for you.

If you have childcare experience and want to work part time, this role may give you all flexibility you need and more time in your day to catch up on other things.

This role is ideal for a Teaching Assistant who wants to work additional hours, or even a nursery practitioner who wants to work less hours. It is also idea for a Teacher who wants to step away from the pressures of teaching, still work with children and yet work part time. If you have childcare experience, this maybe the change you need!

We are looking for people to work from 3.45pm to 5.45pm, Monday to Friday term-time. Your job will be varied and fun. You will be playing sports with children, engaging in arts and crafts. Looking after children between the ages of 4 to 11 years old.

We are looking for candidates with experience of working with children, and if you have a qualification in childcare then even better.

If you have experience with working for children and want an opportunity to work part-time, this role may be perfect for you.

Job Description: 

• Look after children from the hours of 3.45pm to 5.45pm when school finishes

• Supervise and ensure all play and activity is fun and engaging

• Ensure children are safe and happy

• Participate in children’s group games

• Support children’s art and craft work

• Communicate with the school regularly to ensure the care is in align with the schools’ needs, ethos and termly themes.

• Speak to parents when children are collected

• Be aware of safeguarding children issues and the schools safeguarding children policy, reporting areas of concern to the wrap around care manager.

• After school club staff must be physically fit and alert to supervise and take responsibility for groups of children.

• Person Specification: 

• Specific qualifications are not a prerequisite of the job, but the post holder will be expected to:

• Listen to and understand the needs and aspirations of children

• Have knowledge of appropriate play activities (e.g. Sports, games, crafts, stories, dance etc).

• Have a basic awareness of health and safety practices. Ideally first aid trained.

• Be patient and firm, but have a fair and calm approach.

• Understand equal opportunities issues and practices relating to the aims and objectives of community groups.

• Experience: 

• Experience of being involved in play or activities, whether in a paid or voluntary capacity in for examples, schools, nurseries, holiday play centres or other equivalent play setting. 

• To include planning, organising and supervising activities.
