Welcome

Halstead St Andrew's School is a partnership between Halstead Preparatory School for Girls and St. Andrew's School, Woking.  Opened in September 2023, we are a co-ed school, with the aim to educate around 500 pupils aged 2-16 across our two sites in Woking.

Halstead and St. Andrew's School are both long-established schools; proud of the fact that between us we can claim nearly 200 years of experience in educating prep school children.

Our vision is to build on the success of both schools, to develop the best we both offer and to create a dynamic and exciting new school that prepares pupils for an ever-changing world.

The partnership provides more opportunities and greater career enhancement for our staff. This in turn enables us to develop the already outstanding educational provision we offer preserve the well-known, well-loved family atmosphere that both schools provide.

Our Nursery and Pre-Prep are based at our Woodham Rise site: a stimulating and age-appropriate environment for our youngest pupils, which creates a happy and secure learning environment. There are expert, class-based and specialist teachers to inspire and nurture our pupils.

From Year 3, pupils move to Church Hill House. Here they enjoy continuing outstanding teaching and the facilities of our well-appointed site and extensive playing fields. They then (from 2026) will have the opportunity to stay with us through to GCSE.

Having two dedicated sites allows us to maintain a small and nurturing school atmosphere in each, while the resources and security that are part of a larger school ensures that the teaching and learning environment is entirely appropriate for the different age groups.

One of the defining features of Halstead St Andrew's is freedom of choice. Whilst we hope that pupils will progress from our Prep School to our Senior School, we will continue to prepare pupils opting for other senior schools at both 11+ and 13+. We will also continue to support parents in finding the next stage school that is best suited to their child's individual needs. This flow of incoming pupils at key transition points creates a stimulating and energised educational environment.

We support all our pupils in taking their place in the community and wider world, demonstrating civic duty and interpersonal skills alongside the ability to think creatively. In an ever-changing world, in which our pupils will face many challenges, we believe the environment we create fosters adaptability and reflects society today.

At Halstead St Andrew's, a successful education goes beyond academic studies. We are confident that pupils will leave us as well-rounded, determined young adults who are prepared for the future.
