Job Title:  Alternative Provision Teacher of Science and Maths

Salary: from £23,000 (based upon experience)

Start Date: May 2019 (or as soon as possible thereafter)

Contract Type: Full Time

Contract Term: Permanent

EdStart opened its first Independent Specialist School in South Manchester in September 2010, and now operates across multiple sites throughout the North West.

Our primary function is Alternative Provision, serving the region’s schools and young people by developing a suitable environment and curriculum to match their varying needs.  Our pupils each can develop an individual learning plan with their mentor or teacher which they then follow throughout their time with Edstart.

Are you looking for a job which allows you to teach and impact on young people’s lives rather than spend all your time planning and marking?

Our centres use a carousel process which means the need to plan so extensively is reduced and allows more time to work individually with students in line with the learning plan.

We require a Teacher of Science and Maths to join our dedicated team who will be responsible for the learning and achievements of students, ensuring equality of opportunity for all. The post will be predominantly based at our Salford provision. However, there might be an opportunity to work across other centres.

Our DfE registered centres are all equipped with classrooms, ICT facilities, Smart and interactive white boards, and private one to one mentoring rooms.

Facilities for cooking and art are also features of our centres. As well as creating a suitable learning environment, our centres are pupil friendly with activities available to engage pupils during break times.

We need you to:

• Hold an education related degree

• Excellent communication skills, building rapport with secondary school-age students

• Proven track record of helping students achieve assessment test scores

How to apply:

To request an application form/pack, arrange a visit or an informal chat regarding this post and working at the school please contact Diane Jamieson or Katie Mcwilliams on 0191 267 6555 or 07713323792 or email permanent@visionforeducation.co.uk

Completed applications should be submitted by Monday 1st April to Diane Jamieson via email.

Applications will be reviewed as received, so we may be in contact before the closing date.

Your application is a direct permanent application to Edstart. Vision for Education is our recruitment partner and manages our permanent appointments.
