AM2 Assessor
To work closely with the AM2 Centre Manager and the AM2 Lead Assessor in developing the growth potential of the AM2 Centre. Looking at new business opportunities and unitising your experience and expertise of the industry to develop the Centre.
To develop, prepare and maintain a safe, robust and secure induction and assessment programme that maximises occupancy of the AM2 Centre in line with NET requirements.
To contribute to achieving excellence and excellent practice. You will be expected to create effective and stimulating opportunities for all candidates through high quality assessment practices.
Work with external parties responding to stakeholder requests were appropriate.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the AM2 Centre high standards of candidate, client, and employer satisfaction against agreed targets.
- Ensuring all health & safety and safeguarding requirements are effectively in place in line with awarding body and college policies.
- Ensure NET rules and regulations are always adhered to.
- To assist in the coordinate of the AM2 Centre ensuring we meet the requirements of NET and abide by their policies and procedures.
- To carry out candidate assessments and examinations as detailed in the guidelines defined by NET.
- To be a NET accredited assessor and be fully conversant with the NET Assessor’s Manual and centre specification.
- To carry out maintenance of the centre, continuously making improvements as per NET Guidelines and Policies.
- Play an active part in the co-ordination of how the centre operates, including the day-to-day planning of Assessments, changes to make improvements and develop processes to support the efficiency of the Centre.
- To accurately maintain candidate details, administration of assessment and other records. To carry out all assessor administration as detailed by NET.
- To manage the stock and purchasing of materials for the AM2 Centre.
- Providing returns and documentation as necessary to the AM2 Manager.
- To maintain close contact and develop relationships with employers, appropriate agencies and organisations were appropriate.
- To ensure that data is timely, accurate and complete and used effectively within the centre to identify and plan improvement.
- Contribute to an annual business plan that will deliver the strategic aims and objectives of the AM2 Centre and its stakeholders.
- Assist your AM2 Manager in meeting targets, financial performance measures and contribution ratios.
- To work closely with the AM2 team to ensure that the candidate receives a high-quality experience and utilises best practice.
- To contribute to the delivery of income targets and ensure that the AM2 Centre’s activities maximise cost efficiency and income.
- To assist in ensuring the AM2 team meets health and safety requirements, undertakes appropriate health and safety risk assessments, and reports any issues to the college Health and Safety advisor as required.
- To be aware of national developments in the subject area and update knowledge and skills on an annual basis.
- Establish and maintain procedures with candidates which promote and maintain appropriate behaviour, communication, and respect for others, while challenging discriminatory behaviour and attitudes.
- To liaise with Head of School and AM2 Manager in contributing to the administration necessary to support the assessment within the AM2 centre.
- To review own professional development needs and to participate fully in future training, development and remain up to date with awarding body requirements.
- To contribute to the College and curriculum area strategic objectives and to actively engage in the annual review.
- To ensure that all candidates in the subject area comply with the awarding body and College’s policies and procedures.
- To contribute fully to the mission and values of the college Group ensuring its effective implementation in all aspects of college life.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Essential Criteria
- NVQ Level 3 installing and commissioning electrical systems and equipment or City and Guilds 2360 Part 1 and 2 certificates or equivalent.
- Relevant industry experience (5 yrs.) subsequent to the completion of the relevant NVQ Level 3
- Relevant qualification relating to knowledge and understanding of the current edition of the BS7671 IET Requirements for Electrical Installations. (18th Edition Regulations)
- Level 3 Certificate in Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations (2391, 2394 and 2395 or equivalent).
- JIB Gold Card.
- Relevant assessor qualification.
- Relevant verifier qualification or a willingness to work towards attaining the qualification.
- Recognised H&S qualification (e.g. IOSH Managing Safety).
- Engaged in Continuing Professional Development
- Have current up to date NET assessment training and have experience of the management of AM2 assessments or willing to complete full NET training.
- Proven and demonstrable knowledge of the AM2 assessment equipment, material and accessories.
- Experience of delivering assessments to meet learners needs.
- Experience of assessing students’ needs and planning assessment for their benefit including summative assessment of practical skills and knowledge during end point assessment.
- Good understanding of quality assurance.
Desirable Criteria
- An un-expired First Aid at Work qualification or willing to obtain.
- Minimum of Level 2 literacy and numeracy or willingness to complete.
- Proven and demonstrable knowledge of the AM2 assessment licensing, guidance and assessment records.
- Good understanding of business development to meet the training needs of employers.

Opened in 1992 after being formed from a number of colleges in the city we now have 5 locations situated in the heart of Liverpool. Currently the college serves more than a third of all 16-18 year olds in Liverpool, and educates almost 12,000 learners a year. In 2018 the college achieved a pass rate of 99.6% beating the national average of 97.6% for a-level results. Within this year as well we had a 100% pass rate in modern languages.
However, the college itself is not just facts and figures. The mission statement of provide high quality skills and education by delivering opportunities for growth to all people and business of the Liverpool City region, shows inclusivity and a community understanding. The ease in which to get here helps quite a lot to. Be it driving, buses, trains or even a ferry you are never short of options.

Historical buildings like the Bombed out church, Royal court theatre house or even a hidden gem like the Bluecoat School lane which boasts being the oldest building in Liverpool. The Beatles museum is a popular place to explore the band and possible find bits out about them you might not have known.
