Are you an Instructor committed to improving the lives of children and young people?


We are looking for an experienced Instructor to join our fantastic team at Trent Acres in Kings Bromley, Staffordshire. As an Instructor, you will deliver fun based learning to pupils according to their educational needs, in a way that maximises children’s achievement and ability to develop.


This is a great opportunity for an Instructor who wants to develop creative learning opportunities for children with varied and complex needs. Your work will be challenging and rewarding in equal measure, working with individual and small groups of pupils in a school where we maintain a strong safeguarding culture, where pupils are listened to, respected and involved in as many decisions as possible.

We are looking for an Instructor, experienced in a range of subjects which could include Food Technology, Art, Crafts, Horticulture, PE & Games and any other practical based activities that could engage and motivate students. You will work closely with our Teachers, helping deliver our vision to build incredible futures by empowering vulnerable young people in the UK, to be happy and to make their way in the world.


Already experienced in an SEN/ASC environment, you will be forward thinking, engaging, resilient, and have an innovative style of teaching, motivated by supporting families and helping every child to reach their potential.


About us:


Options Trent Acres, is a newly opened service and situated on a 12 acre site offering an integrated residential, education and care package for children between 8 and 19 years with a wide range of complex needs, Autism and associated learning disabilities The school is purpose built, modern and welcoming with a range of specialist learning areas including an indoor and outdoor riding school and outdoor gymnasium. Children also have the opportunity to work with our horses, donkeys, goats, alpaca and chickens. Learning outside of the classroom is a fundamental part of life at Trent Acres. We have a dedicated staff team who are focused on the delivery of high quality, child centred, bespoke packages of care and education. Our service is in within easy reach of Stoke, Derby, Telford, Stafford, Lichfield, Burntwood, Rugeley, Burton-on-Trent, Tamworth, Uttoxeter and surrounding towns.


The school is currently under development to double pupil numbers and these vacancies relate to additional staffing requirements.


For over 16 years Options Autism have provided care and education to children, young people and adults with autism, complex needs and learning difficulties. Trent Acres provides a wide ranging curriculum which is tailored to meet the needs of each individual pupil. Pupils are able to work to nationally recognised educational awards in a broad range of subjects. Pupils are able to access Animal Husbandry using our onsite facilities, Horticulture and outdoor activities education. Where appropriate we seek to source work experience placements for pupils. The service also seeks to build links with local schools and colleges which enable us to provide further education opportunities for our pupils.

Many of the young people who come to Options Trent Acres have either experience a fragmented education or have not attended School/ College for a long period of time. Many of our students have a Statement of Special Educational Needs/Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) which will detail and identify their needs.
