We’re now looking for an Apple Support Technician to provide Apple support and ensure the availability of Apple services and systems across all the South Thames Colleges Group.

You will provide support for Apple technologies and integrating their specialist areas with College Systems and Infrastructure. This will at times also include the support of other IT equipment that comes under the responsibilities of the IT Services, including Windows desktop systems, audio visual and mobile devices.

You will work extensively with Apple’s macOS and tools, along with Packaging Tools as well as other infrastructure systems to prepare, distribute and install software packages and updates, and will solely manage the portfolio of applications for inclusion on Apple computers and devices. You will liaise with academic and support staff to agree the timely deployment of yearly updates to the core Apple software image and be the primary technical contact for Apple devices, services, and technologies.

We’re looking for someone who holds a Level 3 qualification (as a minimum) in a relevant subject area and who has extensive knowledge on Apple technologies, systems and desktop/device environments, especially JAMF. You will also have knowledge of Apple backend systems, hardware and management systems covering macOS 10.6 – 11 + and later and have experience with creating software packages for Apple computers and operating centralised software distribution for Apple devices.

Results and customer focused, you will be able to establish creditability with Managers and understand the business need. You will have highly developed communication skills and experience of monitoring and diagnosing issues in an Apple environment. We’d like you to have a detailed understanding of IT security and its implementation as well as Microsoft System Management Tools.

This role is based at Kingston College but is a Group wide post covering Kingston College, Carshalton College, Merton College and South Thames Colleges.
