Appointment of a Head
St. Nicholas Preparatory School is a co-educational Nursery and Preparatory School for pupils aged 2¾ to 11 near Hyde Park in central London. Part of Cognita, one of the world’s largest families of schools, St. Nicholas offers a traditional preparatory education based on the child-centred learning of the Montessori method, as well as a CNED programme for bilingual French speakers from Years 1 to 6. The School aims to encourage a lifelong love of learning and prepare children with a breadth of educational needs to gain entry to a range of leading 11+ schools.
Cognita is seeking a committed educationalist to lead St. Nicholas into the next stage of its development. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a multi-cultural, multi-faith preparatory school in a stunning central London location and contribute to the development of a growing network of schools with ambitious plans for the future.
The appointed candidate will combine a track record of highly successful senior leadership experience in a preparatory setting with the authority and personal impact to be a compelling ambassador for St. Nicholas Preparatory School and Cognita. A creative thinker, committed to character development, enrichment and fostering global perspectives, the next Head will possess the strategic skills to further develop St. Nicholas, and the warmth and charisma to inspire the School community to even greater success. A proactive willingness to embrace the many benefits of being part of Cognita is essential, as is a genuine resonance with the School’s inclusive ethos.
