Apprentice (Level 2): Hospitality Services x 2 posts

To assist in the efficient operation of the Coffee Shop to include the service provision of hot and cold drinks and food and to successfully gain a Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Hospitality Services

Rate of pay: £7,525 per annum or subject to provisions of National Minimum Wage (if applicable) pro rata equivalent to £5,084 per annum

Hours of Work: 25 hours per week (Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday including early mornings, evenings and weekends)

Contract: Part-time, fixed term until completion of the Apprenticeship Framework, including QCF (previously known as NVQ) and Essential Skills.  

The maximum duration for each QCF level is 66 weeks.

Location: NPTC Group of Colleges (initially based at Caffi Y Gaer, Brecon).  

Qualifications: The successful candidate must be willing to undertake a Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Hospitality Services (training will be provided).  Experience of working within a catering/customer service environment would be advantageous.

About Brecon Beacons College

 GRWP NPTC Group is an amalgamation of further education colleges in the County of Powys, Wales. The region of Powys has a population of 133,000, and is sized at approximately 2000 square miles. Offered at the 12 college campuses are 12 distinct subject areas, ranging from academic pursuits, foundation courses and sixth form academy study, to vocational roles such as Business and Management, Engineering, and Childcare. The schools of the NPTC Group were formerly under the umbrella of Neath Port Talbot College and Coleg Powys, and merged in 2013. 

Nidum Arts Centre is located on the Neath Campus of Neath Port Talbot College, and includes a purpose-built theatre with a 168-seater auditorium and two multi purpose 'black box' studios. Lilliput Day Nursery provides a wide and varied range of activities with the emphasis on having fun and learning through play by fully qualified staff. Themes Restaurant at the College’s Newtown campus is a working restaurant staffed solely by students who train in all aspects of the hospitality industry, from food preparation and professional cookery to hospitality and supervision. The restaurant is open on Tuesday nights, as well as Tuesday and Thursday lunchtimes, with the students often catering for up to sixty people at a time.
