APPRENTICE: SUPPORTING TEACHING & LEARNING

To support with PE/Outdoor Education & Inclusion 

Required for September 2020

37 hours per week - Apprenticeship 1

We wish to appoint an Apprentice who will help provide support for Teaching and Learning in PE/Outdoor Education and Inclusion. The successful candidate will provide support to the PE Department, Outdoor Education activities, including Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, and support the work of the Inclusion Teams, working closely with students to overcome any potential barriers to learning they may have.

The successful candidate will have experience of participating in Outdoor Education. They will act as a role model to students and set high expectations to students at all times.

Highfields is a successful and heavily over-subscribed School situation on the pleasant west boundary of Wolverhampton.

Highfields School is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school with sixth form in the West Midlands, serving students from the age of 11-18. The secondary school, situated in Wolverhampton has approximately 1,700 students on record.

Highfields School opened in 1957 and converted to academy status in 2015.

Students are encouraged to get involved with a wide range of extra-curricular activities to gain in confidence, nurture talents and discover new talents and interests. These include the Duke of Edinburgh Award, sports clubs, trips and an active Student Council, where skills in leadership and teamwork are practiced. The school recently received a cultural diversity award from the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust.
