Apprentice Teaching Assistant (Primary)

At the Richard Huish Trust our vision is to deliver exceptional education and we are very mindful of the invaluable role our Learning Support Assistants and Teaching Assistants play in supporting the delivery of exceptional education. 

We are currently in the processes of setting up a Teaching Assistant Training School which will be based at North Town Primary School which will provide great opportunities for people to earn whilst they continue to learn, as well as being a good first step for people who would like to become Teaching Assistants in Primary Schools. 

We are mindful that becoming a teaching Assistant might be quite a daunting prospect for some people so we have set the Training School up to give people who might have the right attributes, but have little or no experience, a ‘safe’ opportunity to grow into the role. 

We will work with the apprenticeship team at Richard Huish College and the school team to develop a personalised learning plan which will take into account any previous experience and qualifications, to support the trainees as they progress towards the completion of their apprenticeship, in readiness for taking up the role of Teaching Assistant in one of the Huish Trust Primary Schools on a permanent contract.

Contract: Apprenticeship contract with a view to being made permanent 

Hours: 30 hours per week (Mon - Fri) Term Time (38 weeks of the year)
