Integrated Services for Learning is a multi-disciplinary service comprising of Specialist Advice and Support Service, Educational Psychologists and Statutory and SEND services that works across Hertfordshire.

A key function of ISL Specialist Advice and Support Service is to ensure that the educational and developmental progress of children and young people (0-25), with a range of SEND, are met in line with the Hertfordshire Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Strategy and HCC strategic objectives.

The service has undergone a recent reorganisation bringing ISL services together into four local county areas. There is now a vacancy for an experienced Teacher within the newly re-organised Service for an Area Lead Post within the SEND Specialist Advice and Support Service currently based in County Hall.

The role will oversee the delivery of specialist teaching, advisory and support services within the designated locality area for SEND Specialist Advice and Support for Children and Young People 0 - 25. The post holder will also carry an additional county-wide role in the SEND area of Sensory Impairments.

As part of Integrated Services for Learning (ISL) all post holders will work collaboratively with the Delivering Special Provision Locally (DSPL) Partnerships and other colleagues both within and outside ISL to promote early intervention, assessment and excellent inclusive practice.

The post holder is required to hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with an additional post graduate (Masters Level or equivalent) within a Sensory Specialism. The post holder will have a minimum of five years teaching experience and evidence of senior management responsibilities. Although this post is currently based at County Hall, the post holder may be required to work at another location in county.
