JLC is the leading Sixth Form College in Nth Lincs, Nth East Lincs, East Lindsey, Lincolnshire, Doncaster, Hull & Rotherham with an above average progress score. JLC has consistently been in the top 25% of all schools and colleges for A-Level and top 10% for BTEC. The college’s learners are fantastic and JLC are looking for an Area Lead who can harness their talent inspiring them progress to the best universities and employers around the world.

This is an exciting opportunity for a committed individual to work with 14-19 year old learners and join a well-respected and progressive sixth form college.

The area currently offers A and GCSE Level Biology, A Level Geology and BTEC Applied Science at Level 2 and 3. It is expected that the successful candidate will take a lead in the teaching of A-level Biology and the development of this important course. Teaching on other courses is also likely, dependent on experience and expertise.

The post may suit an experienced leader, an ambitious schoolteacher, or a practitioner from an FE background looking for a move into management.

John Leggott College is a mixed, selective, non-denominational, general further education college situated in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire. It is a 16-plus institution based on a single modern campus close to the town centre, with good access to surrounding rural areas. There are around 1,700 learners at the college, between the ages of 16-19, studying a range of academic and vocational courses.

The college was founded in 1958 as John Leggott Grammar School. The sixth form was established in 1968 in the midst of a Scunthorpe education reorganisation.
