Contract Hours

Part time 20 hours a week. Working arrangements to be determined and will be discussed with shortlisted candidates, but likely to be over at least 4 days a week.  Term time -37 weeks.

Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic Art and Food Technology Technician who working under the direction of the teachers responsible for Art and Food Technology will provide support for the teaching of these subjects.

The responsibilities include preparation and maintenance of materials, ingredients and equipment for Art and Food Technology and assisting with the preparation of resources, images and displays. The role also involves maintaining stock and carrying out stock control and under the direction of the teacher, to assist appropriately with practical work.

To be suitable for this role you will have;

  • 5 GCSEs at A* - C or equivalent
  • Experience of work in a school environment, supporting learning and able to work with KS3, 4 & 5 pupils.
  • Evidence of ability to work with art and design materials and equipment
  • Practical experience in cookery and food preparation.

Polam Hall School is a 4-19 co-educational day and boarding school which converted to Free School Status in September 2015. It is now part of Woodard Academies Trust and forms part of the Trust's Northern Hub.

This is a very exciting time at Polam Hall. The school has grown to its current 740 pupils over the last three years and will continue to expand until it reaches a roll of around 880.
