You will join an established department with a friendly, dedicated team who achieve excellent results.

We can be receptive to teachers joining us at varying stages in their career; whether you are a recently qualified teacher or one who has many years teaching experience, we can ensure that you are developed within the department and wider school.

Please note that we are able to offer two roles; Lead Practitioner and Teacher of Art & Photography. We ask interested candidates to state which opportunity they are applying for in the 'additional information' section of the application form.

Note that Leigh Academies Trust has been supporting King Henry School since September 2022 to recruit exceptional staff who can make an immediate positive impact on the school community and all of its students. We’ve already made a positive impact and will continue to work closely with the school to make the highest quality staffing appointments. Click here to read about the transition of King Henry to Leigh Academies Trust in Spring 2023. This is a hugely exciting time to join King Henry School and for our staff to work together under the remarkable leadership of John Dixon, Principal

We’d like to hear from candidates who are:

  • Collaborative, able to build strong professional relationships
  • Able to motivate and inspire students and staff to achieve their full potential
  • Energetic and have a can-do attitude
  • Confident and has strong career aspirations
  • Committed to safeguarding and the happiness and well-being of everyone at the school
  • Prepared to be involved in leading co-curricular activities either within or outside of their teaching subject

We offer permanent opportunities with a salary of MPS/UPS / Leadership pay scale + Outer London Allowance, commensurate with experience.

Application process: Naturally, we are seeking to appoint the best possible candidate and therefore the application process will reflect our desire to undertake all necessary measures to achieve this.

On the basis interested candidates may be keen to visit the school before making a formal application, you can arrange this by contacting Pam Morey - PA to the Principal - via email at PMorey@kinghenry.org.uk.  Visits will be offered throughout January and February 2023 - please ensure you offer a range of dates when you are available in your initial email to ensure we can coordinate a visit that works for both you and the school.

Candidates wishing to have an initial conversation about this role can also arrange for a telephone call. Those wishing to do so should also contact Pam Morey (as above) in the first instance. If you have any queries on any aspect of the application process or need additional information please contact Elene Redelinghuys (Recruitment Advisor) on  elene.redelinghuys@latrust.org.uk.

About Leigh Academy Bexley

Our Vision

We believe that every student should have the opportunity to be extraordinary through developing academic, physical and emotional confidence. This means having the courage to take risks and learn from their mistakes.  Success in education, as in sport, is the result of successive small failures followed by ever increasing challenges. As we tell our students;  “Everything worth achieving is outside your comfort zone.”
