Art and Technology Technician 

37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term time only 

Immediate Start available

Single Status Grade 4, currently £16,120 - £16,778 per annum, full time equivalent

Beacon Academy is looking for a self-motivated Technician to join our busy Art and Technology Department. You should be methodical and organised in your approach to work and have the ability to communicate well with both young people and adults. This is a broad ranging role within the Art and Technology departments supporting students and staff and includes Art, Photography, Graphic Design, Product Design, Textiles and Resistant Materials. There is also the opportunity to work within the Engineering department. 

The post offers flexibility and we would welcome applications from candidates with expertise in any of the above areas. This role is a superb opportunity for anyone wishing to gain experience in a school environment, possibly as part of their career development. Training is available for the right candidate. 

We are a split site, rural, mixed 11-18 non-selective converter academy with approximately 1300 students, including over 250 students in our Sixth Form. We are situated centrally in Crowborough on the outskirts of the Ashdown Forest, an area of outstanding natural beauty. We are close to Tunbridge Wells and the South Coast.

As confirmed by the Department of Education’s provisional national league tables, Beacon Academy is number one school in the county under the headline Progress 8 measure, and in the top 2.82% of all schools nationwide. We have been judged good with outstanding features in 2 successive Ofsted observations, and are well on the way to achieving our goal of outstanding.
