Our small and friendly team at our Stoke Poges Campus are looking to recruit a creative, enthusiastic and experienced Art teacher to join the team. You will support our students across KS3 and KS4 on a part-time (0.6 FTE) permanent basis - hours to include Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. There may also be the opportunity to grow Art into Sixth Form and to support our students through to KS5.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan a programme of study for students in Years 7-11 that meets the learning aims of the school

• Support the development of a vibrant Art programme for students aged 7-11

• Creating a climate for learning that is conducive for excellent practice

• Identifying clear teaching and learning objectives 

• Differentiating to provide support for students with SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities) and challenge for those who are gifted and talented

• Using a variety of teaching strategies to motivate and challenge students, and ensure high levels of interest

• Developing approaches to Self-Directed Learning and use technology to support learning

• Use assessment data to inform lesson planning 

• Using a variety of teaching strategies to motivate and challenge students, and ensure high levels of interest

• Produce reports for parents in line with the school calendar

• Contribute to subject development by producing, reviewing and updating curriculum plans and schemes of work

• Establish effective working relationships with colleagues and set an outstanding example to stakeholders through personal and professional conduct

You will:

• Be highly motivated and an excellent classroom practitioner

• Possess recent experience of teaching Art to students across KS3 and KS4

• Have an up to date knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 National Curriculum and assessment framework, along with exam specifications for KS4 

• Be relentlessly positive, with a ‘can do’ attitude

• Be an experienced teacher or an exceptional NQT

• Enjoy being part of a supportive team

• Be caring and enthusiastic

• Respect the school’s Ethos and Values
