Part Time 0.75 (3.5 days a week)

Required for mid - January 2018

This is a short term maternity post

We are offering 3.5 days a week to teach in our school, this will enable you to still have time to continue with your own artwork and photography.

We are looking to appoint an excellent teacher of Fine Art & Photography who would like to work with and contribute to the development of highly motivated students.  We are looking for someone who is passionate about teaching engaging lessons that help students understand the importance of Art and the positive impact it can have throughout their life. First class academic results, broad extra-curricular programme and an ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted report.

At Hasmonean High School this comes as standard.

We believe in giving our students the tools they need to build their future.

“The school is one of the best schools in the country at outperforming expectations for their pupils and improving their future prospects. There is plenty that other schools could learn from Hasmonean High School’s success.” (Sue Williamson, Chief Executive of SSAT)

Hasmonean High School is a centre of educational excellence serving the Orthodox Jewish Community of North-West London. Boys and girls are taught separately on two campuses. Our school combines the secular with the religious within a framework of Torah Im Derech Eretz (respect for others, both within the school community and in the wider world).  Academic rigour is combined with in-depth Torah study, incorporating values such as chesed (caring/ kindness) and tzedokah (supporting charities).

Hasmonean is one of the best performing comprehensive schools in the country: our students attain consistently high standards in their GCSE, A/S and A Level examinations.  The vast majority of our graduates go on to study in world-class yeshivas and seminaries, before pursuing university education and a wide variety of careers. The highest expectations are shared by students, staff and parents.

Alongside our commitment to education is a determination that every Hasmonean student understands their place in their own community and wider British society.  Teaching them to embrace their place in the world around them is achieved through various aspects of our curriculum and a broader social, moral, spiritual and cultural (SMSC) educational programme.

It is also reflected in our school ethos of Torah im Derech Eretz and students have the opportunity to learn how to integrate with others from different backgrounds and  respect British Values and the different cultures that make up our society.  We expect our students to play a meaningful role in society and provide many opportunities during their school life for them to do so.

Underpinning this is a clear expectation, modelled by our staff, that everyone, regardless of their background should be treated with dignity, courtesy, kindness and respect.

We have a first-class staff dedicated to making our school a happy and purposeful school for students. Each student is valued, along with his or her parents or carers.  We aim to maximise each student’s potential within a caring, disciplined and ordered environment, and, in return, expect all students to respect and support the values on which our community is based.
