We have a fantastic opportunity at our Swaffham Campus for an experienced and interactive Art Teacher to join the team on a part time (0.6FTE- Weds, Thurs & Fri), permanent basis and to teach our students in KS2-KS5. You will be adept at coaching our students to see and lead through challenges in their learning, so they make the best possible progress in each and every lesson.

You will: 

• Have Qualified Teacher Status and a degree or a similar Art & Design related qualification 

• Possess recent experience of teaching Art to students in KS2-KS5

• Knowledge of the National Curriculum for GCSE & A-Level Art including exam specifications. 

• Possess a good understanding of SEND procedures

• Have a diverse set of skills which will enable you to be flexible working in the classroom for both theory and practical sessions, as well as in our modern learning centre

• Be an innovative and reflective practitioner who is keen to learn

• Respect and promote the schools Ethos and Values

Key responsibilities:

• To ensure high-quality teaching of Key Stage 2-5, enabling excellent rates of progress for all students 

• To embed a culture of safeguarding within the classroom and wider school environment, demonstrating exceptional levels of care for students 

• To ensure lessons, study and interventions are planned and delivered to meet the outcomes as set out in the OneSchool Global UK (OSGUK) Art curriculum and the relevant GCSE, and Cambridge International A Level Examination Board specifications 

• To use technology skilfully, including Canvas, Zoom, DyKnow and Panopto, to facilitate learning for all students 

• To inspire and motivate all students of Art to achieve at the highest levels by supporting the development of all learners 

• To equip students with the transferable skills of time management, communication, literacy, study skills, research, IT, problem solving and the effective use of technology 

• To undertake other teaching responsibilities as required 

• To plan, implement and monitor schemes of work, lesson plans and student Self-Directed Learning assignments for the subject. 

• Differentiate planning to take account of the differing needs of students, including those who are under-achieving, more able or have special educational needs 

• Have excellent subject knowledge and understanding of recent developments

• Accurately assess, record and monitor each students’ and attainment according to OSG policy and use assessment to adjust planning and schedule interventions as required 

• Facilitate independent learning for students by taking every opportunity to build self-directed learning into assignments, lessons and study 

• Perform such other duties as may be requested from time to time, commensurate with the role 

• Uphold and promulgate the OneSchool Global Ethos within all areas of responsibility

About OneSchool Global UK Swaffham Campus

The drive to create learners who are self-directed is advanced at OneSchool Swaffham Campus with students having access to state of the art learning centres in both senior and primary areas and a sixth form business centre. In these areas students share best practice and collaborate with a mature approach and a burning desire to achieve. Progressive use of IT is central to life at Swaffham with all students in the senior years each having use of their own laptop. Our highly engaged staff group provide support for the learning with the shared, clear understanding that expectations for achievement are not limited. We deliver a broad curriculum to students from Year 3 to 13 and provide student leadership opportunities and extracurricular involvement wherever possible.
