Littlegreen Academy is seeking to appoint an outstanding, committed and resilient Art teacher.

Littlegreen Academy, a SEMH school for boys aged 7 – 16 years, near Rowlands Castle and Horndean, became a member of The Solent Academies Trust on 1st January 2019.  We are an outstanding special school’s trust and learning community which includes Mary Rose Academy, Cliffdale Primary Academy and Redwood Park Academy as well as the Portsmouth and Solent Training Alliance.  The Trust has a successful track record of developing and supporting staff to make sure you gain the skills and experience to enable our pupils to achieve great things.

We pride ourselves in our creative approach to learning and see art as a key element.  To us at Littlegreen, art is a magical gift, through which we can not only develop artistic ability but also use it to support our pupils personal, social and emotional development and to develop their cultural awareness.  Art in its many forms is a great way to connect with and help children with SEMH especially in the development of their expressive communication.  

We are looking for a dynamic teacher who is passionate about teaching and learning Art. You will be energised, enthusiastic and creative, tailoring learning opportunities as well as equipping our pupils well, for life now and in the future. You must be a team player, who is consistent and reliable, with a great sense of humour!  

We will provide you with superb resources, excellent staff induction and training. A commitment to continuing professional development, as well as opportunities for career progressions within a happy and supportive community. We value our employees and as part of our pay structure we pay a SEN Allowance, which increases in value after 3 and 5 years of service.

We are fortunate to have extensive school grounds including our own woodland area, where we spend quite a lot of our time learning

Littlegreen Academy is a special school for 81 boys aged 7-16 years who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. Many children also have a range of additional needs including Autism, ADHD, Attachment Disorders, Anxiety and Speech and Language delay.

We provide a curriculum that is creative, relevant, motivating and personalised to meet the wide ranging needs of our pupils.
