East Lane Primary School is seeking a passionate and innovative Art Teacher with SEND experience to join our dedicated team. This unique role will involve teaching a small class of 9 children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), delivering a broad and balanced curriculum through the lens of art.

About the Role:
- Teach a creative, arts-based curriculum across all subjects.
- Plan and deliver engaging and inclusive lessons tailored to meet the diverse needs of pupils.
- Foster a nurturing and supportive learning environment where every child feels valued.
- Work closely with SEND specialists, support staff, and therapists to ensure personalised learning.
- Promote the development of social, emotional, and communication skills through creative expression.
- Assess and track pupil progress, adapting strategies to support individual learning needs.
Person Specification:
Essential:
✔ Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification.
✔ Experience teaching children with SEND.
✔ A strong background in art, design, or creative teaching approaches.
✔ A passion for using art as a vehicle for learning across the curriculum.
✔ Ability to differentiate lessons to support a range of learning needs.
✔ Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
✔ A positive, patient, and empathetic approach to teaching.
Desirable:
✔ Experience working in a specialist or inclusive setting.
✔ Knowledge of therapeutic approaches such as art therapy.
✔ Understanding of EHCPs and strategies for supporting children with complex needs.
