Job overview

Notre Dame Catholic Sixth Form College is a highly successful college located in the Universities area of Leeds. The College is rated as ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted and is always oversubscribed.

Art at Notre Dame Catholic Sixth Form College

Art is a highly successful, grade 1 department. Achievement and high grades are consistently above benchmark and the ALPS scores demonstrate excellent progress.

The Art Department is highly committed and enthusiastic with specialist skilled staff. In September 2020 the department introduced A Level Photography for the first time and we are now looking to extend the breadth of skills in the department. The department offers A Levels in Fine Art and Photography. Each of which gives students the opportunity to experience a range of specialist areas before making informed choices about the areas in which they would like to specialise. The Art department have facilities for painting, printmaking, textiles, and sculpture. There are two studios and many students gravitate towards these in their own time to continue their work in a supportive, highly creative environment.

Diversity of skills is something that has enabled the Art Department to succeed. Owing to the current technician securing a promotion at a local University, we are looking for an efficient and competent technician to join a mutually supportive and professional department who have a strong emphasis on enabling all students to realise their potential.

The post offers the unique opportunity to combine technical support with teaching (see post description for further details). You will have a track record of outstanding success and be able to make a significant contribution to the future of Notre Dame within an inclusive environment, where we have a real commitment to the personal and academic development of all students.
