Farleigh School seeks to appoint a creative and engaging Art Technician, to provide technical support to the teacher in charge of Art, contributing to students’ learning experience by assisting with the preparation of materials for practical work, setting up classrooms and general organisation.

The successful candidate will:

• Have an enthusiasm for Art and a commitment to high levels of artistic achievement

• Have knowledge and skills in some or all of these areas:

o Drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture, printing, photography and textiles

• Have a positive understanding of the level of personal and professional commitment required to support both boarding school community life and the extended school day during term time 

• Possess a recognised Art or Design qualification

• Be flexible, adaptable and open to change

• Have a strong sense of self-initiative and the ability to prioritise tasks appropriately 

• Be confident in the use of technology for educational delivery and be competent in undertaking the IT-related tasks 

• Be willing to uphold and support the Catholic ethos of the school

Working hours are six hours per day, Monday to Friday. Ideally, 9.00am to 4.00pm with a 60-minute unpaid lunch break, however there is some flexibility on the start and finish times where appropriate, this can be discussed at interview.

The successful candidate will receive a renumeration package which includes: 

• An actual salary of £13,068 per annum based on £11 per hour
