King Edward VI College, Stourbridge is a sixth form college and a member of the Heart of Mercia Multi-academy Trust. The college specialises in the delivery of A levels for 16 to 19 year olds, offering a broad curriculum with extensive enrichment opportunities.  The college is a vibrant, inclusive community with over 2000 students from a variety of cultural and social backgrounds, all united in their enthusiasm for learning.

We require a part-time (14 hours per week) art technician to start as soon as possible. This is a maternity leave cover expected to last until October 2021. The weekly working days are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. 

Working as part of our creative and highly collaborative visual arts team, the post holder will play a key role in supporting the day to day running of the various art studios and textiles workshop. The art technician will work on organising and ordering resources, advising students on practical tasks and providing technical assistance to staff and students as needed. In addition, they will assist with mounting work for exhibitions and co-ordinating and updating the display areas around the college site. The role will involve keeping accurate written records of stock-taking, requisitions and expenditure. This is a vital role within a thriving, forward-thinking and collegial visual arts team. 

The College is fully committed to supporting all members of staff through staff development and in-service training.

This is a fixed term, part-time term time only post with up to 6 extra contractual days (which will be paid separately), subject to the conditions of service handbook of the Sixth Form Colleges Association.  Salary will be paid on the Sixth Form Colleges Association support staff pay scale, grade 3 – 7 (currently £5832.78 - £6313.75 TTO based on 14 hrs per week). The working pattern will be decided in consultation with the successful applicant.
