Artist in Residence – Part Time
Salary: This is an unpaid position. The role comes with studio time and space, and a stipend for materials.
Start Date: 19th April 2022
Deer Park School is looking for an Artist in Residence to be a part of our successful school community in our new state-or-the-art facilities. The Artist in Residence will work out of our in-school art studio on a part time basis, with flexible hours. As part of the role, some of this time will be spent sharing the art studio with the children, allowing them to view your work and ask questions about your inspirations, methods and techniques, and providing them with an inspiring example of artistic excellence. Visits to the school are warmly encouraged, and applicants are welcome to view the work of our highly-successful current Artist in Residence.
The successful applicant will be an aspirational and committed artist able to provide a model of high quality practice for the children, and can be working within any genre and medium. There is no requirement for formal artistic qualifications, but a portfolio of work will be required at the interview stage. An ability to converse openly and formative about art and artistic practice is essential, as is an enjoyment of working alongside children and sparking inspiration in their artistic ideas and work.
Closing Date for applications: Friday 18th February, 2022
Interviews: Week beginning 21st February, 2022 (interviews may take place before this date if a suitable candidate is identified)
Position Available: April 2022
