Due to our growing student numbers, we are seeking a full time ASC School Teacher to join our outstanding multi-disciplinary team.  Previous experience of working with this population is desirable but not essential.

Aware of how emotional, social and mental health difficulties may impact on learning and the strategies that can be deployed to support the pupils in and outside of the classroom.

Autism can present very challenging behaviours and staff must have the confidence and emotional resilience to deal with the challenge that Autism presents.

The successful candidate will join an established team of care, education and specialist therapy professionals working together to support student progress and will receive a bespoke induction package.

Experience in a Special School setting or in managing challenging behaviours would, of course, be an advantage – but this exciting post could also suit a newly qualified teacher with an interest in and desire to learn more about special needs. Talocher School is a specialist school for girls and boys aged 7 to 19 with with social, emotional and mental health needs some also have an ASC diagnosis. We currently have registration for 60 students. The school provides a warm, welcoming and flexible environment for young people who are unable to attend mainstream education because of their additional learning needs.

For all roles we require a minimum of two references.  References provided must cover the last 3 years, for all of our services we will need to request all references from where you have worked with either Children or Vulnerable Adults. Please be advised that references may be requested prior to interview for roles within our schools.

Queenswood comprises of the main school site, The HUB (located off site) and 6 nearby residential homes. Whilst we enjoy a rural location, we are still well connected, just two miles from Ledbury train station, on a main bus route from Ledbury to Hereford and with good links to the M50.
