Job overview

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and inspirational teacher to join the SEND team and to lead and further develop the school’s already highly commended provision for SEND students.   

This role will play an integral part in the SEND provision with teaching within our ASC Centre. The ASC Centre is a mainstream unit for selected pupils with Autism. The centre opened in September 2003 and we have 15 students within this specialist environment. It is a purpose built building with excellent facilities, resources as well as having a superb reputation in the area for the provision it provides for nurturing the students to develop academically and socially.  

The successful candidate will be able to communicate effectively and appropriately with staff, pupils and parents and to manage the learning and teaching of individual pupils.  

Kingsdown School are part of a Multi Academy Trust and joined the River Learning Trust on the 1st September 2017. The successful applicant will join the School as a River Learning Trust employee.

Kingsdown School is a mixed 11-16 Academy situated on the eastern outskirts of Swindon. The most recent OFSTED inspection commented “Leaders provide a curriculum that is broad and balanced. A notable strength of the school is its care for pupils facing particular difficulties, the work the school does to support pupils’ personal development and well-being is good”.
