The Role

We are seeking to appoint an inspirational and ambitious Aspiring Leader of Science to join our STEM faculty.  2017/18 will be our third year and as our students move towards GCSE we have created this role which for the right canditate will lead into them becoming the department lead in 2018/19.

A specialism in either Chemistry, Biology or Physics will be essential for the role.

The successful candidate will be someone with a commitment to King Solomon International Business School (King Solomon) ethos and value, a willingness to work and the flexibility to support the achievement of all students.  It is essential that the candidate demonstrates that they have the students’ well-being at the forefront of all that they do. 

The candidate will be expected to promote and practise safeguarding in relation to the welfare of the children they come into contact with and therefore an extensive knowledge and understanding of Child Protection and Safeguarding procedures and legislation is essential.

We are looking for someone:

To develop and implement Teaching and Learning initiatives and strategies throughout the faculty and school which raise the teaching practice of all members of staff and therefore raise student standards and progress.  

To be a model of excellent practice, maintaining a clear focus on outstanding delivery to learners, ensuring a centre of best practice and excellence.  

To take a lead role, working closely with the Senior Leadership Team and other leading practitioners in developing, implementing and evaluating policies and practices that lead to school improvement.  

To research and evaluate innovative curricular practices and draw on research outcomes and other sources of external evidence to inform own practice and that of colleagues.  

To develop high quality teaching materials and schemes of learning. 

To contribute to staff development through the CPD programme. 

To develop the creative use of teaching to enhance teaching and learning.  

To support underperforming teachers to enable them to improve their practice. 

To be involved in the induction, support and CPD of all newly qualified teachers.  

To create a completely new faculty in our brand new school  

To promote the aims and objectives of the school and maintain its philosophy of education and ethos as a Christian school.

Our School

King Solomon is a popular free school which opened in 2015 in the heart of Birmingham City. King Solomon is a multi-denominational Christian school which, when fully established, will provide education, with a business emphasis, for pupils aged from 4 – 18 years old. The school currently has Reception, Year 1, Year 7 and Year 8 cohorts and will be enrolling new cohorts of Reception and Year 7 pupils in the 2017 September entry.

King Solomon is affiliate to The Woodard Corporation which contains some of the highest achieving schools in both the public and private sectors.
