We are looking for suitably qualified individuals to join our pro-active, dynamic and friendly team of Assessors. The successful candidate will be required to deliver high quality apprenticeships and work based training to local employers. You will assess our clients/apprentices in their place of work, and seek to combine a speedy achievement for our employers with a quality product for our candidates as well as developing and maintaining elationships with our local employers.

You will need access to your own suitable transport to be able to visit clients across the Staffordshire region.

Newcastle & Stafford Colleges Group is financially one of the strongest of its kind in the country with very high success rates and the best provider of construction skills training in Staffordshire.

The group is currently home to a population of over 5,000 full-time students and around 620 students on higher education programmes. We have over 2,000 part-time or adult learners and 2,000 apprentices where we work with over 800 individual employers.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To develop, maintain and manage relationships with local employers.
  • To take an active part in the recruitment of new apprentices through contact with local employers.
  • To complete on-site NVQ 3 assessments in compliance with awarding body standards and to monitor progress of apprentices.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Holds appropriate qualifications to level 3 along with experience in the electrical installation industry.
  • Holds or willing to work towards the appropriate assessor’s qualifications (TAQA Level 3, progressing onto TAQA Level 4).
  • Has industry experience in Electrical Installation, with current knowledge and the ability to deliver to industry standard.
  • Is well organised and able to manage the peaks and troughs of a varied workload.
  • Able to communicate effectively with students and peers.

Newcastle-Under-Lyme College is a mixed, non-denominational further education college in Staffordshire, serving students from the age of 16 and above. The further education college, situated in Newcastle under Lyme has approximately 3,800 full time learners on site every year, along with 2,600 part time or adult learners.

Newcastle-Under-Lyme College opened in 1986 and in 2010,  moved to a £60 million campus. In 2015, a £5.5 million performing arts centre opened, while an outdoor learning centre built the following year. The college works closely with LEGO Education to help support learners and teachers and has invested £60,000 in a LEGO Education Innovation Studio. Other facilities include The Gordon Banks Sports Centre, which features a 24 station gym, a media theatre, fashion studio and a hair and beauty training salon. In 2013 it was identified as good by Ofsted.
