Assistant Bursar

Rosemead Preparatory School is a successful, Independent School in Dulwich. Established in 1942, Rosemead has an established presence in Dulwich and is currently implementing a 15 year Estates Strategy to ensure that the school continues to flourish for the next 75 years.

We are looking for someone to join us, who is willing to contribute and adapt to our changing and developing school. We are seeking a suitably qualified and energetic professional to join us in our busy Bursary, finance and accounting office.

We’re particularly keen to find someone with necessary competencies to support the Senior Leadership Team as the School continues in its current expansion. With a turnover in excess of £4m and nearly 360 pupils, Rosemead offers excellent opportunities in a challenging sector.

If you already have experience in an Independent School or other not-for-profit organisation, we’ll be especially pleased to hear from you. Above all, we want to meet candidates with really strong technical skills combined with bags of enthusiasm and plenty of ambition for growth and development.

You’ll be a real team player, able to work using initiative with excellent communication skills and a willing can do attitude. With ambitious plans for the future, the role is exciting and challenging, which requires flexibility, problem solving and a sense of humour.

Rosemead Prep is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Applicants for all jobs will undergo appropriate child-protection screening including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check to enhanced level.

Full details are available by contacting the Bursar, Ray Sawyer, on 0207 670 5865 or via email:  bursar@rosemeadprepschool.org.uk

About Rosemead Preparatory School

At Rosemead, we strive to provide a balanced curriculum that nurtures the holistic development of each child. While academic achievement is important, we firmly believe that education should encompass much more than just exams and grades. Our approach is centered around ensuring that your child receives a well-rounded education that includes a strong emphasis on Music, Art, Drama, and Sport, without compromising on academic excellence.

It brings us immense pride to share that our Year 6 children consistently achieve excellent results in the 11+ exams, opening doors to some of the top secondary schools. It is important to note that Rosemead prides itself on finding the school that is right for the child. However, this success does not come at the expense of our rich arts and sports programmes.

Every year, we witness the artistic talents of our children as they win National Art Awards and perform in breathtaking productions. Moreover, our sporting achievements are equally commendable, with several students qualifying and competing at the National Athletics competition in Birmingham this year.

Our curriculum is designed to be creative and engaging, with each year group exploring topics that serve as the focal point of their learning. We encourage cross-curricular connections, where subjects are linked to a central theme, often supported by a captivating novel. This approach not only enhances their understanding but also fosters a love for learning that goes beyond the confines of the classroom.

We take pride in being a co-educational institution, recognising the immense value of a diverse learning environment. We believe that all children benefit from learning together, developing vital social skills and building strong, respectful relationships that will serve them well in their future endeavours. The world is a co-educational environment and we believe that school should be too.

Graeme McCafferty, Head.
