The Role

We are currently seeking to appoint an exceptional geography specialist to join our expanding Humanities and MFL team.  Playing a central role in guiding an innovative and growing department towards even better outcomes for our students – you will help drive the department to achieve more.  You will play a significant role in continuing the development of a ‘five year’ curriculum, designed with the intention to get the most from students. You will be responsible for leading the development of key staff members, and will play a significant role in strategic planning for the department.  You will be a dedicated and outstanding teacher with a unique approach to teaching and learning that inspires both colleagues and students.

The Department

Our Humanities and MFL department currently consists of 7 excellent practitioners. We will provide a comprehensive support and mentoring programme for the successful candidate to ensure you excel at your role and are supported in becoming an outstanding teacher.

The School

Manchester Health Academy opened in September 2009 and is sponsored by Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. In September 2010 the Academy moved into a £20 million state-of-the-art building and to accommodate a growing student population we have recently completed a further £10 million expansion project. Rated by Ofsted in April 2015 as a good school, with many outstanding features, we are now embarking on the next stage of our journey to outstanding and are looking for exceptional and inspiring individuals to help us achieve this ambition.

What we’re looking for

You will be a passionate and a highly motivated geography specialist, with a proven track record of success and of raising pupil attainment As a member of the Academy teaching staff you will be tasked with delivering an exceptional standard of teaching and learning, which raises aspirations and leads our students to the achievement of the highest academic standards. 

This role represents an exciting opportunity to work as a member of a committed and highly innovative team delivering a curriculum where collaboration and team work is essential.  We are looking for a highly original and innovative individual, able to make an exceptional contribution to a strong team.
