Assistant Curriculum Leader - Mathematics

*This position attracts a TLR2c payment*

Manchester Health Academy opened in September 2009 and is sponsored by Central Manchester NHS Foundation Trust with Manchester City Council as co-sponsor. In September 2010 the Academy moved into a £20 million state-of-the-art building and is now amongst the most popular schools in the city, showing significant academic improvement, a rapidly expanding student population and growing sixth form provision.  Rated by Ofsted in April 2015 as a Good School, with many outstanding features, we are now embarking on the next stage of our journey to outstanding and are looking for exceptional and inspiring teachers to help us achieve this ambition.  The success of the Academy has enabled significant plans for expansion, providing career development and leadership opportunities for all who aspire to excel in our organisation.

Our vision is to combine education and health in transforming the futures of our young people. We are on the journey to becoming the secondary provider of choice and the hub of our local community.  Does this excite you? Do you want to be part of something exceptional?

Due to the expansion of the maths department we are seeking to appoint a passionate and a highly motivated individual into the role of Assistant Curriculum Leader, who will have a proven track record of success and of raising pupil attainment.  This position will play a central role in guiding an innovative and growing department towards even better outcomes for our students.   You will have a significant role in continuing the development of a ‘five year’ curriculum, designed with the intention to get the most from students. You will also be responsible for leading the development of key staff members, and will play a significant role in strategic planning for the department.  We are therefore seeking a dedicated and outstanding teacher with a unique approach to teaching and learning that inspires both colleagues and students.  You will be ambitious and seeking to develop into a Middle Leader in the near future.

In return we will promise you a stimulating, supportive and rewarding working environment, where all staff are valued and encouraged to take a leading role in the development of the Academy vision and strategy.  You will also have the opportunity to access a range of excellent professional opportunities to support your progression.

An application form, job description and person specification are available for download from our website (www.manchesterhealthacademy.org.uk).

Completed application forms are to be emailed by the closing date/time to: recruitment@manchesterhealthacademy.org.uk. Only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
