Alder Community High School is a popular, oversubscribed, 11-16, mixed comprehensive school and is situated in Gee Cross, Hyde within Tameside to the east of Manchester and is close to the borders with Stockport and the Peak District. We can offer excellent facilities, a friendly and supportive environment and opportunities for professional development.
Alder is a rewarding place to be. We have built a culture where staff feel valued and supported. We recognise the benefits of staff working in a productive, healthy and flourishing workplace, and we work hard to ensure the wellbeing of everyone.
Our school is moving from strength to strength. Examination results have improved dramatically over the last few years and this year 83% of our students achieved a grade 4 or above in Maths; 75% achieved a grade 4 or above in both English and maths. In November 2017, Ofsted judged our school as continuing to be ‘Good’.
We require an inspirational, dedicated and passionate teacher of Mathematics to assist the Curriculum Leader in improving upon what are already outstanding results. The successful candidate will join a thriving, high-performing and well-resourced department, where results have been consistently significantly above the national averages in all measures. You will be required to teach across the age and ability range and will be expected to contribute to after school revision classes where necessary.
Closing date for applications – Monday, 10th December 2018
