We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Curriculum Leader of Science, who is passionate and imaginative. We expect all leaders to be able to motivate and develop teachers and monitor learning so as to get the best possible outcomes for our students. Science is a successful curriculum area and there is a good uptake of Triple Science at GCSE and the separate sciences at A level. The ability to teach Chemistry to A Level is desirable but not essential. Salary: MPS/UPS + TLR 2:2

About the role
Assist the Curriculum Leader in the day to day management of the curriculum area in order to ensure high standards of teaching and learning are delivered. Monitor the work of any staff assigned to your area and carry out their annual performance management.
Keep up to date with developments in subject areas and disseminate to other teachers in the curriculum area. Ensure that up to date, attractive and informative displays are maintained.

Professional knowledge, abilities and skills you need for this role:
- Subject expertise.
- Establish and maintain high expectations for all students.
- The theory and practice of providing effectively for the individual needs of all children (e.g. classroom organisation and learning strategies).
- The monitoring, assessment, recording and reporting of pupils’ progress.
- The statutory requirements of legislation concerning Equal Opportunities, Health & Safety, SEN and Child Protection.
