Assistant Curriculum Manager - English

Calderdale College is looking to recruit a committed, talented and enthusiastic individual to work in the department of Maths and English to support the Curriculum Manager in creating a culture in which learners and staff excel. The candidate would ideally be an English specialist, preferably with a strong history of delivering high standards in GCSE English. However, strong candidates from other disciplines would be considered. 

The successful candidate will have experience in leading in a curriculum area and will be able to demonstrate outstanding leadership in the development, planning, delivery and monitoring of curriculum. They will also have a strong desire and ability to follow through in continuously improving the quality of learning, teaching and assessment related to all areas of the provision.

Our ideal candidate will have a strong record in leadership and be able to provide evidence around leading a team to deliver outstanding results in English. They will also have strong motivational skills with an ability to direct a diverse team to achieve a vision of high achievement. You will be able to work with a range of different stakeholders in order to focus on improvements in teaching, learning and assessment leading to high levels of achievement in provision.

As part of the role (0.3) the post holder will fulfill the duties and responsibilities of a Main Grade Lecturer (MGL) in the English Department.

To be suitable for this role you must have a PGCE teaching qualification.
